Ways Parents Can Get Involved with YouthQuest
Volunteer to Chaperone for a Trip- This is a great way to support the youth ministry and to be the arms and feet of Jesus to the teens. If your teen does not like the idea of you chaperoning, assure your teen that Brad need lots of help and it can be arranged for parents to serve away from their own teenager
Volunteer to pray for a specific teen daily or a group of teens daily- Our teens are facing serious spiritual warfare in their schools and they need all the prayers they can get.
Volunteer to Bring Food one week to Wednesday nights- In order to avoid a huge budget expense, we are asking parents to take turns bringing snacks for 100 people on Wednesday nights. We need 40 families a year to do this. Volunteer to help set up or clean up on Wednesday nights.
Volunteer to help with a fund raiser- These are easy ways for the kids to make money, and provides people with something they are looking for.
Volunteer to organize a prayer vigil for parents and/or church members to pray for the congregation- We did a 24 hour prayer vigil for YouthQuest at the beginning of the summer of 2004 and had adult prayer partners during the summer of 2005. If you would like to make these happen again, contact to Brad.
When you see or know about teens doing cool and Godly things- Write them a note and help Brad think of a way to recognize those teens.
Tips from YouthQuest
ALWAYS turn money into the payment drop slot in the foyer. NEVER give cash. NEVER give it to Brad or Jenna. NEVER give it to a chaperone. NEVER give it to Coach. NEVER give it to another adult. When departing for a trip, ONLY turn money into the official registration table OR put it in the payment drop slot. This ensures that it will not get lost.
ALWAYS check the YouthQuest part of the Providence Road web page for applications to any YouthQuest trip.
NEVER Turn in cash. When cash is used to pay for a trip it is too hard to track what has been paid by whom.
ALWAYS read the YouthQuest Parents’ section of the Celebrate each week during Sunday morning worship service for any important announcements.
All adults need to fill out an application and pay for each trip. This helps ensure we have enough adult supervision for each trip. If we don’t have enough adult chaperones, the trip will be cancelled. We greatly appreciate those of you willing to sacrifice your time to help us on these trips.
